1. My husband has been wrongfully arrested and detained in IMH some half-dozen times in recent years for political reasons.
2. I did not realise that the arrests and detentions in IMH were for his political activities, until a month or so ago.
3. Many, many people in Singapore and internationally are aware of all this.
4. I can confirm now that in the last 17 years and more, my husband has not been mentally ill, although the police has tried hard to make him appear so, so that he could be arrested and detained in IMH whenever they got the orders from the political leaders.
5. My husband's behaviour and actions over the last 17 years were actually desperate attempts to adapt to continuous, outright persecution by secret police using sophisticated American equipment.
6. His main method of adapting to this continuous campaign is to publicise what the secret police were doing to him, our son, and his niece.
7. His famous incident of using a hammer to knock on the door of the flat above, in our previous 5-room HDB flat, quoted in court, was actually not mental illness as alleged by the prosecutor but a very normal and sane response to nightly [and daily] 24/7 attacks and provocations by sophisticated equipment, which many, many people in Singapore and overseas already know.
8. I cc copy this email to Prof CHEE Kuan Tsee, who, in treating my husband from 1979, also did not realise that my husband has been well and normal in the last 17 years and more, mostly because I did not know either, so gave Prof CHEE the wrong impressions of my husband.
9. Please print a copy of this email and place it in my husband's file for the record, so that if he again enters IMH, the doctors will be in a better position to decide on his continued detention or release him immediately, as there are no medical grounds for his continued detention, since all these 17 years of provoked behaviour are the normal and sane behaviour of a desperate man subjected to incredible provocations.

1. My husband, HO Chong Robert, nric S0197974D, made a police report online, A/20090602/2018.
2. The next night, Wed 3 June 2009, three of your Investigation Officers came unannounced to my flat for the sole purpose to seize my husband's pc.
3. This happened several times before, and the longest seizure was 7 years before your CID returned it, so we had to give it away as it was obsolete.
4. The current computer seized is an expensive one, costing more than S$2,000, which I paid for with my own money since my husband has been prevented from working or earning money for the past 17 years.
5. I want the pc back before it becomes obsolete.
6. My husband has never been convicted in any court of law here or overseas, so he is clearly not a criminal, just a political dissident.
7. Keeping our computers for 7 years is not due process or proper police procedure. It is confiscation without justifiable cause nor ordered by a court, which is the only authority to order such confiscation.
8. I expect a reply.
