Vote out 21 politicians and transform Singapore

RH: "There are only 21 Cabinet Ministers. If they are all kicked out at the next election, do you really think our citystate will grind to a halt or collapse?

That our schools will stop teaching; our markets stop selling fish; the HDB stop accepting your applications for flats; the police stop catching thieves?

Truth is, the political office holders are the MOST DISPENSABLE people in the country. Of the entire civil service and govt machinery, they do the least work because they are usually the least qualified, unlike lawyers for the legal services, doctors for the medical services, professors for the university courses, etc.

Politicians do nothing except play politics to stay in power. That is all they do and they do it very well, which is why many Singaporeans think they are indispensable.

Vote them out and give our citystate the first real opportunity for change in 50 years.

Then and only then will HDB prices come down to sane levels, NS reduced to 6 months to a year, our CPF accounts start getting real interest and grow big enough for our old age and medical needs, education more creative instead of rote-learning, the huge influx of foreigners slowed, the free scholarships to foreigners depriving our children of places in tertiary institutions -- in short, all the good things that the current 21 politicians refuse to even consider let alone bother to change.

Hongkong never had a LIE KY nor our 21 politicians and look at them! What HK can do we can, too, once these 21 politicians are kicked out.

It is time to vote them out, like so many countries are voting out long-ruling parties.

Vote them out! You will find that our citystate will continue business as usual without skipping a beat.

In months, you will wonder why you ever held these 21 politicians in thrall at all."

Idea: Why UFO Aliens havent contacted us

RH:
1. Considering the huge number of unexplained sightings and some very reliable witnesses, UFOs probably exist and they have been visiting us here on Earth for some time. Then, why dont they make contact?

2. To answer that, consider: NASA takes minutes to send signals to and fro its Mars Rovers so it is impossible to directly control by remote signalling all the actions of the Mars Rovers. It is a long and tedious process of sending a command say, to raise its camera, etc, wait minutes for the signal to reach the Rover, then wait minutes for the return feedback signals to indicate the command has been successfully carried out. The sun takes about 8 minutes for its light rays to reach Earth.

3. Thus, if the UFOs on earth are NOT manned by aliens as I believe, but by robots at best or some computer programme, this explains neatly why the aliens havent made contact. They cant because they are not here and only their equivalents of our Mars Rovers are.

4. Why arent aliens here? Consider the vast astronomical distances. The nearest star, Proxima Centauri, is 4.3 light years away, meaning that even if your UFO can travel at the speed of light, an impossibility according to Einstein, it would still take 4.3 years to reach Earth. The best bet for life on other planets are something like hundreds or thousands of lightyears away and unless aliens have found ways to suspend animation to travel to us, or have found the method to prolong their lives indefinitely, they cannot live long enough for the journey. Even if they can prolong their lives indefinitely, theyd prob die of boredom during the journey. Hence, the UFOs on Earth are most prob unmanned, like our Mars Rovers.

5. Since these unmanned UFOs cannot communicate quickly and directly with their home planet, due to the long lag, the UFOs contain only inanimate robots programmed for certain functions and thus cannot respond to any human contact whether initiated by us or them. These robots can be very sophisticated, even made of biological material instead of metals, but prob still limited in intelligence and initiative, and can only be preprogrammed to do certain tasks and prob cannot handle the complex ritual of meeting us. Remember also that what UFOs are here have been sent hundreds or thousands of years ago, and thus more primitive than their current home planet civilisations.

6. One day, we will prob bring down a UFO or capture one and prove all these. In the meantime, relax, they are not here to destroy us, prob only to measure, record, study, analyse our planet like they are prob doing to thousands of other planets and to them, we are just monkeys and other creatures that happen to inhabit this little planet in this little solar system.
